Training at our schools will help you to develop your physical and mental skills whilst having some fun in a safe environment.  Taekwondo can help you improve many area’s of your life and provide new avenues as well as making new friends. Our adult age range varies greatly meaning the members often have different reasons for training and progress at different levels in certain areas..  Some want to get fit or maintain their fitness level, others join to learn a system of self-defence or to lose weight. The training you will receive at Bristol Taekwondo School will give you the tools to develop and achieve your goals in Taekwondo.  You will start with learning basic movements including blocks and kicks which is developed into formal prearranged movements.  You will also learn fundamental self-defence techniques.

Older Adults
Over the age of 30 adults begin to lose muscle mass at around 1% per year and this is one of the reasons why things become more difficult as you get older.  This is call Sarcopenia which is age associated muscle degeneration and after middle age this increases to 3% muscle loss per year.   The best way to fight Sarcopenia is to have a sensible diet with a good level of protein, remain active with aerobic exercise, resistance and balance training which are all included elements in Taekwondo thus making it an excellent means of fighting Sarcopenia.
