The main instructor of Bristol Taekwondo School is Master Chris Davies
who is a 7th Dan black belt certified by the Kukkiwon which is the World
Taekwondo Headquarters in Korea. He began his Martial Arts
training in 1974 and is now one of the most senior and qualified masters
in the UK.

In 2008 Master Davies was awarded a commendation diploma from the
president of the Kukkiwon for his efforts in the development and
popularisation of Taekwondo. |

In February 2010 Master Davies was appointed to the Kukkiwon Cooperation
Committee. The Kukkiwon is the World Taekwondo Headquarters responsible
for education, standard and qualification of black belts.

In
2011 Master Chris Davies was appointed as an Advisory Member
to the Kukkiwon. 91 Senior Masters from 38 European
countries were selected to be a conduit between the Kukkiwon
and the world Taekwondo community. The members were selected
for their hard work in promoting the Kukkiwon and Taekwondo
to their international community. |
South Gloucestershire Personal Achievement award 2011
In November 2011 Master Davies received the South Gloucestershire
Personal Achievement award at the annual sports awards presentation by
BBC TV sports presenter Geoff Twentyman for all the work he has done
promoting and contributing to Taekwondo in the region.
In July 2011 Master Davies had A successful trip to Kukkiwon and Chungdokwan
World Headquarters
International Instructor
In July 2009 Master Davies spent some time at the Kukkiwon World
Taekwondo HQ in Korea on the 16th Foreign Instructors course. At the end
of the course he underwent practical and written tests to qualify.

Social Entrepreneurs award
At the end of 2010
Master Davies won a national Millennium Social Entrepreneurs award
to start Taekwondo classes for over 50's which he hopes to start early
in 2011.
UnLtd's social entrepreneurs are real visionaries individuals who have
the potential to make a positive
change in the world through their passion, ideas and a can-do attitude.

In December 2010 Master Chris Davies was registered for and received
his KOMS award in Korea by the new president of the Kukkiwon Master Kang
Won Sik

Flag bearer for UK at World Hanmadang
In December 2010 Master Davies proudly carried the flag for
Great Britain at the World Hanmadang competition at the Kukkiwon which included 46
nations.
World Chungdokwan
Master Davies has an established lineage to the Chung Do Kwan school
which is the oldest and biggest Taekwondo school in the world with its
headquarters in Korea. Whilst in Korea Master Davies had meetings
and spent social time with a number of the head masters of of Chung Do
Kwan. These included the most senior Chung Do Kwan Master in the world
Grand Master Woon Kyu Uhm 9th Dan and Grand Master Kim Yong Ho 9th Dan.
